Adoption of new technologies is often intimidating, but consumers will need to catch up with the fast pace of the transition to ensure the world stays on the net-zero track. Civil society organizations and governments must implement initiatives that stimulate appetite for new low- carbon alternatives. This could include educational campaigns and public-private partnerships to promote novel technologies. Governments can also target carrots at consumers to ease the upfront costs of electric vehicles, heat pumps and other low-carbon solutions.
